Nokia announced yesterday that it expanded the availability of Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to all Nokia S60 3rd edition. Forty-three Nokia handsets now incorporate the application of mobile messaging Mail for Exchange, thus becoming the widest range of devices compatible with the first messaging solution chosen by companies. Nokia also announced today that the Mail application for Exchange will be ready for use on future versions of Nokia Eseries and Nokia Nseries.
With this announcement, Nokia enables approximately 80 million mobile phone users - the number of devices converging Nokia S60 3rd edition sold worldwide so far - to connect to their email accounts via Exchange Server.
The owners of Nokia devices whose company uses Exchange can configure Mail Exchange for free on their machines in different ways, without paying service fees or additional subscription: using the plug-in configuration email the home screen, running the application on file Download! or via the Setup Wizard. Once the application configured, they use their usual data plan to access real-time messaging to their work, their agenda, their contacts, their tasks and directory company, via a secure connection.
