Faced with numerous announcements made by LG, Samsung and Nokia earlier this year on new models marketed in 2009, Sony Ericsson had to react quickly in order not to fall even further behind by competition in recent years is become increasingly aggressive in the market for mobile phones and smartphones.
The Japan-Swedish firm finally finally respond by launching in the second half of 2009 new models, among which are the Satio a very attractive smartphone, which announces a very clear shift in strategy from Sony Ericsson.
Touch Fully integrating the Symbian OS, a 12 Megapixels Optical ... the Satio has anything to get out and raise some concerns for competition.
The discovery Satio Sony Ericsson has started with good impressions: the storage box is small enough, and various accessories are pretty well sorted.
The grip of the Sony Ericsson Satio is good. The smartphone is a bit heavy, which probably results from materials used for the hull, which is mainly composed of steel, which makes Satio fairly robust.
A very big surprise (rather nice) was observed while watching the unit's Satio: is the writing on the door that lets you insert the memory card: "Micro SD"! This is a first for a Sony Ericsson, which has hitherto always preferred memory cards Memory Stick Standard, Duo or M2 from Sony.
The extraction of the casing is fairly straightforward. The SIM card fits into a sort of small plastic tray (a plastic that appears to be of very poor quality) that is pulled from under the non-extractable part of the casing with a small tab after you extract the battery . Inserting the SIM card seems pretty easy, cons by its extraction requires considerable skill.
By cons, no slot is available to store a stylus. And because the stylus attached via a small strap at the Sony Ericsson Satio, as is the case on most models tactile market. I find it really not practical at all to have an object suspended on a string that ballad in every sense when handling a mobile, and more, is likely to hit the screen if you are not careful. Suddenly, the pen will not leave the package, and remain in the cabinet of the mobile. Wooyoo ...!

A good looking phone with nice feature however having no slot for a stylus is a big no no, is this the first time that we can use an SD card for SE if yes then thats great.

ReplyDeleteNice post thanks for creations. The key selling point on the Sony Ericsson Satio will undoubtedly be the high-resolution camera. Sony seems endlessly creative in their ability to integrate a stylish Cyber Shot device onto the back of the Sony Ericsson cell phones, and while the camera lens cover add significant bulk to the back of the Satio, the metal shell will hopefully provide some protection for the lens. The Sony Ericsson Satio features a 12-megapixel camera, and shooters will be able to touch focus using the phone's touchscreen. The camera also features a Xenon flash, and face and smile detection.
ReplyDeletenice post and nice thinking u have sucha as Sony Ericsson stopped by to give us some face time with their newest flagship device, the Sony Ericsson Satio. The Sony Ericsson Satio, which used to be the S/E Idou, is an all-touch tablet phone running the Symbian Foundation OS. Like the recent Nokia N97, the Sony Ericsson Satio will run Symbian S60 5th Edition. The theme and specific user interface will be somewhat different, but in our hands on time with the device we felt like the basic structure of the OS was the same. The phone uses a wide, 3.5-inch touchscreen. Like the N97, it's built at a 16:9 aspect ratio and uses 640 by 360 pixels.

ReplyDeleteIt is a high-end 3G smartphone that falls at the highest end of Sony Ericsson's phones.
ReplyDeleteThis cell phone has incredible style, with magic touch and 12 megapixels that gives you high-resolution shots you’ll want to blow up big.
ReplyDeleteNice post In our hands-on experience with the Sony Ericsson Satio, we were impressed by all of the individual features, but let down by the phone's interface as a whole. This was reminiscent of our experience with the Nokia N97, which runs on the same platform. Sony Ericsson is throwing a lot of support behind the Symbian Foundation by releasing a new flagship device running the Symbian OS with a touch interface, especially after last year's flagship device, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, ran Windows Mobile with Sony's own Panels interface, a completely different setup.
ReplyDeleteThe best parts of the interface are clearly Sony designs. Sparkling multimedia menus with cross-bar action remind us of recent Walkman phones and the Sony Playstation 3 menus. The camera interface was touchable and nice looking, and the media players were all very clean and slick. These are the features Sony Ericsson does best.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have a solid network connection, but the phone has a nice assortment of advanced Internet features built in. The Sony Ericsson Satio will get native Exchange ActiveSync support, which will help corporate users synchronize e-mail, contacts and calendars with their work servers.
ReplyDeleteFinally, we´ve got the Sony Ericsson Satio in our hands! Well, this is not a final, retail unit, but rather an early prototype. That is why we are coming up with a preview, without passing final judgment. Still, we are more than happy to take a peek at what we will officially have in Q4 this year and can´t wait to get down to the testing. Let´s just first fill you in on the background of the Sony Ericsson Satio though. Actually, Satio is the official name of the device that was, initially, announced as the Sony Ericsson Idou at MWC 2009.
ReplyDeleteSporting a 3.5-inch resistive, touch sensitive screen means you can´t expect the Sony Ericsson Satio to be a small device, but its size is pretty OK with us, given the functionality it delivers. It´s interesting to notice that despite it looks rather bulky, the phone feels light in your hand and we hope this stays the same when the retail version comes out. Like the Samsung OMNIA HD and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, there are only three buttons on the front side – send and end, along with a third one that´s located right between the latter and pressing it gets you to either the main menu or task manager.
ReplyDeleteThe theme and specific user interface will be somewhat different, but in our hands on time with the device we felt like the basic structure of the OS was the same.
ReplyDeleteThis is a huge disappointment - can't think what SE were thinking. A 3.5mm headphone jack is standard in nearly all phones - yet there is none here. Series 60 simply wasn't designed for touchscreen UI's, and consequently the whole experience is laggy and clunky. It only offers a 12MP camera, which doesn't take better pictures than a N82, unless you're printing posters. This will become the Betamax phone.

ReplyDeleteWe'd like to see some real improvements to make this a much more touchable phone. With its resistive touchscreen, we worry that we're going to have to keep a stylus handy while using the Sony Ericsson Satio, but the phone seemed just responsive enough in our hands on tests.
ReplyDeleteThe media players were all very clean and slick. These are the features Sony Ericsson does best.
ReplyDeleteA good solid phone. I have a friend that bought one, but had some problems with the display, but got it fix and now it`s running great. I`m thinking buying one myself.

ReplyDeleteWow, this phone resembled an mp3 player rather than a cellphone. It looks really sleek and stylish. But I bet this one will be really expensive! :D

ReplyDeleteThe improvements include: Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart, Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep and Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming.
ReplyDeleteThe camera interface was touchable and nice looking, and the media players were all very clean and slick. These are the features Sony Ericsson does best.
ReplyDeleteIphone clone by Sony Ericsson - well it has taken them some time to make a descent response.
ReplyDeleteWhat question bothers me most of all - how much does this toy cost?
The phone will use some sort of gesture control, though the company is going all out and claiming the Sony Ericsson Satio will be a motion gaming device.
ReplyDeleteMore likely, the phone will get some sort of media shake-to-shuffle features, or perhaps ringer control, like we've seen on similarly equipped Nokia devices. Also, the Satio will use the Symbian Webkit browser, though we didn't get a chance to load up any Web pages due to a lack of connection during our tests.
ReplyDeleteThe Sony Ericsson Satio features a 12-megapixel camera, and shooters will be able to touch focus using the phone's touchscreen.keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteyou can download everything for FREE once you've created a username theres wallpaper creators and theme creators aswell and you can upload your favourite song on the ringtone maker and select your favourite part the beginning and the end and once you've done you can download it.
ReplyDeletemakasih nih infonya gan.. salam kenal ya

ReplyDeletenice post I bought a Sony Ericsson K800i online and in certain areas it says "emergency calls only". I have at&t and sometimes it works and sometimes it says emergency calls only.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post! It contains so many features like web, games, social media, etc.
ReplyDeleteW810 is a great phone!k750i needs no introduction as it is still one of the best phones in the market. The only thing that k750i lacks is that it cant run Flash menus(.swf) files.W810 can use them in its menus but not otherwise.on the other hand k750i has a protective camera shutter and w810 doesnt,so its bound to get scratched.
ReplyDeleteIf ur a net freak then go for w810 as it has got EDGE and k750 does not has it.If ur limited by budget then u can also go for w300.It has edge too but has a poor screen.I ll suggest the best for u is w810!(Good choice!)
ReplyDeleteSony Ericsson's are great phones, great to save pics and songs, i have always had Nokias in the past and went for one as a change and now i wont go back. It is best to get a memory card for your phone though as large amounts of data on the phone slow it down and can crash it.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about changing my phone to a Sony Ericsson model z310a. I live in Malaysia and I'm wondering what price it is sold now.
ReplyDeleteThe Sony Ericsson Satio features a 12-megapixel camera, and shooters will be able to touch focus using the phone's touchscreen.keep up the good work.thanks.

ReplyDeleteWith a 12 MegaPixel camera, the Satio definitely requires some heavy duty software, not only to allow for tons of options in image/video capture but also to process these images quickly and efficiently.
ReplyDeletedevelopment of mobile phone technology is always spoiling consumers with new products. Good Information... Thx

ReplyDeleteSony Ericsson has finally launched the Satio, the phone it showed off back in February under the guise of Idou, packing the best of all its brands into one phone. But can the sheer range of gadgetry and a new OS be enough to lure customers back to the brand?
ReplyDeleteThese are very nice! Very inspirational for This Information, thanks for putting this together.
